Defining Craftsmanship

What does Quality Craftsmanship mean to Dale Koontz - Builder?

Each of the last 2 months, we have shared thoughts about Dale Koontz - Builder's core values.  This month we turn to the definition of "Quality Craftsmanship" - and what it means to everyone here on our team.

For more than 51 years, "Quality" has been a hallmark of our business.  As a young man, many times that I was introduced to someone they would ask me, "are you Dale's son?".  When I answered affirmatively, almost invariably the next thing that they would say included some reference to the fact that "your Dad does really good work!".

We are pleased to know that our reputation in the community is one of Quality and Craftsmanship.  Realtors mention us; our vendors and subcontractors often recommend us to their friends and family when those folks are looking for someone who does good work.  They know that we will go "above and beyond" to finish a job and that "good enough won't be good enough".

No one is perfect, and we also commit to stand behind our work if there is trouble - because that's part of integrity, professionalism and craftsmanship.  We strive to stay up to date on all industry trends and we are constantly seeking to learn the newest and best ways to build homes and remodel houses.

When he was asked what had contributed to his success, my dad said something that absolutely rings true still today:

"We are easy to get along with, we are fair in our pricing, and we strive to do the very best possible job we can do."

We strive everyday to honor those words and his legacy.
