Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Wishing You the Best for the Holiday

As we draw near to the end of 2022, we want to say Merry Christmas and wish a Prosperous New Year to all of our friends and neighbors.

We are happy to report that 2022 was a banner year for Dale Koontz Builder.  We completed multiple new custom homes and a handful of significant remodeling projects.  Our sister company, Koontz Properties, added another 12 rental units to their portfolio this year; also a new apartment project in Hannibal got out of the ground this year.  It will eventually bring 52 units into the area rental market.

For those that follow the news, it's no surprise that 2022 had its share of challenges.  Prices for labor and materials continue to escalate, and there are shortages of both sporadically.  Rising mortgage interest rates are having a negative impact on purchasing power and that has lead to a slow down in the sale of both new and existing homes.  Ironically, "more housing" is listed as a priority for many areas, as employers and governments hear from their constituents that folks can't find an affordable place to live.  We intend to participate in discussions locally around ideas to improve the access to housing.

Looking ahead, we are thrilled to be planning our 50th anniversary celebration for March 1, 2023.  We feel blessed to not just survive, but thrive into our 3rd generation - and we are poised to keep going strong for years to come.
