49th Anniversary Celebration

Founders' Day event recognizes partners, team and values

Dale Koontz - Builder celebrated 49 years of home building in the Quincy area with its annual Founders' Day breakfast.  Attendees got the chance to listen to owners Tim, Scott and Matthew Koontz review the accomplishments from 2021, as well as hear some predictions for the homebuilding and remodeling industry in 2022.

Tim Koontz, President of DKB, provided some context for what he expects during the months ahead.  "We see a continuation of supply chain difficulty, as well as a continued struggle to find all the workers needed to fill the construction jobs that are open.  The good news is that demand for homes and remodeling services remains high and as of today interest rates are still favorable."

Scott Koontz shared that the Koontz team completed 85 projects during 2021 - including 5 new homes, and 80 other jobs, ranging from massive whole home renovation to small bathroom remodeling jobs.  "Our message for Founders' Day is to thank our Koontz employees, but also thank our vendor and subcontractor partners for the role they play in our success" says Scott.

Winner of the 2022 Dale Koontz Partner of the Year award was Q-City Tile.  Joe Thomas, owner of Q-City Tile, accepted the award with a very surprised look.  "We really like working with the Koontz team, and it's an honor to earn this award" said Thomas.  The award is given annually to a subcontractor or vendor who exhibits the Koontz core values of Integrity, Professionalism and Craftsmanship with a high level of service.
