Celebrating our 47th Anniversary!

Founders' Day event looks at the year past and what's ahead

Dale Koontz - Builder, Inc. celebrated its 47th anniversary this morning with a breakfast for employees, vendors and subcontractors at the Holiday Inn in Quincy.

Dale and Donna Koontz started the home building company on March 1, 1973.  Their first employee, Dave Tieman, still works for the company today - and he will celebrate 47 years of consecutive service on Sunday.  Current owners Tim and Scott Koontz (2nd generation) and Matthew Koontz (3rd generation) gave a presentation with highlights from projects of the past year and addressed opportunities ahead for 2020.

Peters Heating and Air Conditioning was awarded the Dale Koontz - Builder Partner of the Year award for their commitment to Integrity, Professionalism and Craftsmanship.

Koontz Builder completed over 80 different projects during 2019, from one of a kind custom homes, to commercial work, to kitchen and bath remodels.  The company has added 6 new team members during the past 12 months and they are preparing to bid farewell to 2 long term employees who will be retiring during 2020.

Paul Tieman will retire after more than 43 years with the company and Roger Baker will retire after more than 29 years at Koontz Builder.

Scott Koontz said, "We are so grateful to all the men and women who have been a part of our business through the years.  We enjoy a great reputation in this area for quality work - and that can be directly attributed to the quality people we employ."
