Celebrating 46 years

Annual breakfast a chance to look back and look ahead

On Friday, March 1 Dale Koontz - Builder, Inc. celebrated its 46th anniversary with a breakfast for our team and invited vendor and subcontractor guests.

Attendees got the chance to congratulate everyone on their years of service with the company - including a couple folks hitting milestones during 2019: Mike Kurfman will celebrate his 30th anniversary in March; Scott Koontz celebrates 20 years in June; and continuing his record setting streak, Dave Tieman marked 46 straight years with Dale Koontz Builder on March 1.

Koontz Builder has also begun awarding a "Partner of the Year" award to the subcontractor or vendor who embodies our company values of Integrity, Professionalism and Quality Craftsmanship.  Winner of the 2019 Partner of the Year was Brinkman Plumbing.  Jim Brinkman accepted the award on behalf of his entire team and commented on the long, friendly relationship between the 2 companies.

Scott Koontz shared a few thoughts on the industry based on his recent trip to the International Builders Show.  Builders expect to see more and more Artificial Intelligence creeping into homes (Alexa, draw my bath water; Hey Google, pre heat the oven to 350).  The industry is also watching the horizon for disruption in the building process.  Many are predicting that pre-fab or modular construction will be needed to deal with a shortage of workers and to improve efficiency - which should help affordability.  All industry analysts agree that changes are ahead.
