Koontz Builder hiring to meet demand for new homes, apartments and remodeling

We are seeking an experienced carpenter/painter to help our company handle its growing volume of work.  Please review the details of the job below and contact us if you know someone that would fit the description.  The successful candidate will have 3 or more years of experience in the industry.

Painter and Finish carpenter Job Descriptions – Dale Koontz Builder

Job brief:

As a painter or finish carpenter for Dale Koontz – Builder, Inc. you will be part of our team working on custom homes and remodels within a 30 mile radius of the Quincy, IL area.  The new hire will lead or work with helpers and carpenters to produce a finished product that meets the specifications provided to the homeowner; the new hire will be responsible as part of the team for completing the job to company standards, while maintaining a positive, professional relationship with the customer.

Painter Skills:

Paint with brush and roller, including excellent cut in skills

Finish painted trim with caulk and spackle

Operate airless and air-assisted paint sprayers

Complete minor drywall repairs or complete small drywall finish jobs

Understand stain and lacquer techniques for a variety of woods, including matching existing millwork

Carpenter Skills:

Install casing, base and other moldings.

Install and fit cabinets and tops.

Hang interior doors and install door hardware.

Install stair parts and railings.

Install deck flooring and railing.

Position type and hours of work:

This is a full time position.  Current work hours are from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm with ½ hour lunch break.  Work hours may be adjusted to meet job demands.

Compensation and benefits:

Hourly wage will be commensurate with experience in the industry.  Company benefits also include paid vacation, 6 paid holidays, 80% of employee health insurance paid by the company, 401k retirement plan and profit sharing.
