Koontz Team attends International Builders' Show

Orlando event is the industry's largest gathering

Tim and Scott Koontz, owners of Dale Koontz - Builder, Inc. recently returned from Orlando, FL after leading a group of team members to the International Builders' Show (IBS) there.  This is the construction industry's largest trade show, with over 80,000 attendees, 1500 vendors exhibiting and 160+ available education sessions on topics spanning the entire construction field.

"It's important for us to always be investing in our people" says Scott.  "IBS is a great way for our folks to see new products, make vendor relationships and to hear about the trends in the industry.  It's also a great opportunity to share some time away from the office - a reward for all the hard work that they've put in during the last year."

Among the highlights and trends at this year's show:

  • economists are predicting at least 2 more strong years for the housing industry
  • the millenial generation has become the largest by number, but is still slow to enter the housing market
  • Peyton Manning was well-received as the keynote speaker for the event
  • Home building companies are hopeful that newly sworn in President Trump will embrace policies favorable to housing

In addition to spending 2 days at IBS, the Koontz team enjoyed a group dinner at Disney's Animal Kingdom resort, as well as some dining and shopping in Orlando.

Tim Koontz shares that "our plan is to bring all of our team to IBS over the course of the next few years."

For a company that does custom home building, remodeling, multi family development and lot sales, there's plenty to see and learn!
