2015 Year in Review

A grateful look back at some highlights of the past 12 months

2015 Year in Review

With the Christmas holiday past us and the New Year ahead, we wanted to take a moment to thank our customers, vendors, employees and families for making 2015 a terrific year for Dale Koontz Builder.  Here are a few of the highlights of the year that come to mind:

Tuscany Fields – New house factory!

5 families have moved into new homes in the Tuscany Fields subdivision this year.  After selling a house to the Dunns in April, we proceeded to circle around the neighborhood, putting up 4 new custom homes.  The last family to move in was setting up their new beds on Christmas Eve!  The face of the neighborhood has certainly changed in the last 12 months.

The Year of the Storm

The Quincy area was hit with a significant wind storm in July of 2015 and the Koontz team helped more than 3 dozen clients with a variety of jobs.  We did minor and major repairs all across town, and many of our customers were very grateful to find someone who could help them repair a roof or make their house watertight again.  Other folks needed interior repairs due to storm damage; it took some time, but we eventually got to everyone on the list.  The storm definitely made for a busy summer.

Koontz Properties additions

At the beginning of 2015 Koontz Properties added 10 more apartments to its portfolio – these units are located at 1445-1455-1457 Hampshire Street in Quincy.  We also finished the last building at the Hickory Pointe apartments this summer.  That project is at 45th and State and you can now find 60 rental units (plus our rental office) there.

Trinity Lakes is a new option

Late in the summer of 2015, Tim and Scott Koontz purchased the ownership rights to the Trinity Lakes subdivision near 48th and Harrison in Quincy.  This added more than 20 new building lots available for sale in the Koontz portfolio.  Trinity Lakes building lots are available to any interested homeowner, and are open to any builder.  The Koontz Builder team is already beginning their first home in this new area.  For more information on Trinity Lakes go to www.trinitylakesquincy.com

New faces, familiar faces

During the last few months we have added 3 new faces to the Koontz team.  Jessica Cornwell joined our office staff as Estimator; Jordan Lefever is also new to the office and serving as our Administrative Assistant; Bill Dietrich joined our field staff working as a painter and carpenter.

We were pleased to celebrate with a couple long time employees this year, as well.  Roger Baker celebrated his 25th anniversary with Koontz Builder and Matt Rose was recognized for 10 years of service.

This has been a wonderful year for the Koontz team.  We certainly thank everyone who made it possible – from our customers, to our vendors and subcontractors and especially our crew – Thanks for everything you did to make 2015 a great year, and best wishes for a terrific 2016!
