38th Anniversary for Dale Koontz Builder!

Custom home builder celebrates another year in business on March 1.

Dale Koontz Builder celebrates its 38th anniversary on March 1, 2011.

Founder Dale Koontz began his own custom home building company in 1973 with a truck, some tools and his first employee - Dave Tieman.  Having had experience as a foreman for several other Quincy area builders, Dale decided that he should strike out on his own.

38 years later Dale still employs Dave Tieman, and Dale's sons Tim and Scott lead a crew that has grown to have 11 full time employees, plus a part time office person.  "The houses have changed over the years, and there are always new products and ways of doing things;" shares Dale "but the most important thing is to be willing and able to do what you say you are going to do.  Keep your promise to those you work with - customer, subcontractor or supplier"

Koontz has been responsible for numerous Quincy subdivisions and developments, including Wildhorse, Cambridge, Knollwood, Gardendale, apartments at Hickory Pointe and Forestdale, and the new Tuscany Fields subdivision.
